The Okavango Delta is a vast inland river delta in northern Botswana. It's known for its sprawling grassy plains, which flood seasonally, becoming a lush animal habitat. The Moremi Game Reserve occupies the east and central areas of the region. Here, dugout canoes are used to navigate past hippos, elephants and crocodiles. On dry land, wildlife includes lions, leopards, giraffes and rhinos.

The following are not allowed.
No generators (to maintain a peaceful environment).
No loud music or excessive noise.
No sharing of campsites - only booked guests may stay at a site.
No feeding of wildlife - it is dangerous and strictly forbidden.
No movement between locations at night - for safety reasons.
The high temperature of the delta contribute to rapid resulting in three cycles of rising and falling water levels that were not fully understood until the early 20th century. Flood levels peak between June and August, during botswana dry winter months, when the delta swells to three times its permanent size, attracting animals from kilometres around and creating one of Africa's greatest concentrations of wildlife
Inland Delta: It is an endorheic basin, meaning its water drains entirely into the desert and evaporates or transpires rather than reaching the sea.Seasonal Flooding: Water from the rainy season in the Angolan highlands takes about four months to reach Botswana, causing the delta to flood during the dry winter months (June to August).Wildlife Haven: The lush oasis supports vast biodiversity, including elephants, lions, hippos, crocodiles, and hundreds of bird species.
